Why We Live in the Most Vacationed Spot in the World

Many people dream of visiting Hawaii at some point in their lives, and some Hawaiian locals haven’t seen some of the most beautiful spots on the island. Being a tourist is completely different from being a local. Some of us may have never been to some of the top tourist locations. We’ve put together a short list of some of the most popular spots in Hawaii to help you become a tourist for a day and see why our island is one of the most beautiful places in the world

1. Hanauma Bay

Hanauma Bay is one of the most famous places on the entire island for snorkeling. When you arrive at Hanauma Bay, you’re shown a short video about the marine life and the history of the bay. It’s a relaxing, learning experience that everyone will enjoy.

2. Honolulu Chinatown

Just like any large Chinatown, Honolulu’s Chinatown is always busy, energetic, and fun part of the city. With fresh market fruits, meats, and fish, you’ll feel like you’re walking through a completely different country. Chinatown also has its authentic food that will have you craving for more.

3. Diamond Head

Hawaii is most known for its views and hikes, and Diamond Head is one of the most popular. Diamond Head is the iconic former volcano that stands at the eastern side of Waikiki, and is one of the main reasons people visit Honolulu.

4. Pearl Harbor, USS Arizona

Pearl Harbor is more of a memorial than it is an attraction, but it plays a major part in United States history. It was here that a Japanese aircraft made a surprise bomb attack on US ships in 1941. It’s a chilling and eerie place to visit, but it’s also an uplifting and amazing learning experience.

5. Waikiki

Waikiki is the most touristy and famous area of Honolulu. With many high rise hotels and resorts by the beach, you’ll feel like you just jumped into a postcard of the island. Even though it’s a huge tourist spot, there’s still some local secrets about the area. There’s a park called Ala Moana beach that’s great for swimming and exercising, but is rarely overrun by tourists.

We love where we live and we love all the beauty it has to offer. Do you have any local secrets or favorite spots on the island?
